Just rehashed tripe from every other "spiritual" self=help book from this Okie whose father was a impoverished preacher. And unlike his father, Mr. Ray wants wealth from people he can convince to buy his "stuff".
Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. No one can serve two masters. Pick up and read it before it's too late for your soul. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and God will take care of all your needs. If you want to pursue riches, feel free to destroy your own soul, but don't do it while attacking those who gave their all to help the poor and doing awful things that open the door to death & destruction for the gullible shelling out thousands of dollars each to make you rich at their expense. Fight the good fight of the faith." 1 Tim 6Our real spiritual Guide, God on Earth, Jesus said: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. Are you not much more valuable than they.
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life."And why do you worry about clothes. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. There was once an evangelist named Jim Baker that fell for the same garbage. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. They do not labor or spin. The Holy Spirit's words with the Apostle Paul's advice to Timothy confirmed in the canon of The Bible by the same Spirit guiding the Church centuries later is so clearly contradictory to this author's message:"men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth think that godliness is a means to financial gain; but godliness with contentment is great gain. See how the lilies of the field grow. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. When the day comes that you have nothing left to take with you for eternity, you are left empty of your fancy cars, houses, money , etc. When reading this book, I could not help but contrast "the self-proclaimed spiritual guide" with The Spiritual Guide of The Holy Spirit given almost 2000 years ago and lived by many spiritual heroes we read in sites like abbamoses dot com or heard on ancientfaith dot com. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith. So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat.' or 'What shall we drink.' or 'What shall we wear.' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. With nothing you came into the world, with nothing you are going to go out of it.
Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes. After he lost it all, he wrote a great book: "I was wrong" (found here http://www.amazon.com/I-Was-Wrong-Jim-Bakker/dp/0785274251 ). For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Money is a tool, but concentration on it like this author promotes, results in death & destruction for now and eternity. You cannot serve both God and Money. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
You will know what is real important to God then, and it won't have anything to do with how much money you made or did not make. We were warned about wolves in sheep's clothing from the beginning and many will start a "new" movement for prosperity Gospel, but it is not The Christian Faith, no matter how much the devil's minions try to manipulate even Scripture to attack Jesus himself (Matthew 4)
I've read hundreds of these "self help" books over the last twenty years, and this one definitely goes in the top five.
This is a book you want if you want wealth in your life that is permanent. You need to understand how you got yourself where you are.
64 people in a 54 inch high building with plastic over the top. Well I see James Ray was involved in the death of two people in a sweat lodge in Sedona, AZ. This is his knowledge of native healing. This after fasting for 36 hours. The only wealth involved is the $6900 paid for the healing seminar.
